What are they?
Compression socks are tight fitting socks that are worn to improve blood flow by compressing the
legs and feet. While these socks are commonly used to address pain or circulation problems in the
feet. They are also worn by athletes to keep muscles warm during activity, individuals who stand
all day at work and individuals who have a difficult time moving their legs.
Conditions They Address
- Varicose Veins
- Skin Ulcers
- Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Diabetes
- Swelling
- Lymphedema
How do they work?
You may be wondering exactly how do tight-fitting socks possibly address all these issues? Well, compression socks are designed to apply a specific amount of pressure that facilitates optimal
functioning of blood vessels. When pressure is applied, arteries relax which allows oxygenated
blood to flow more easily to the muscles thus preventing pain and swelling.
